Transformed By The Right Light
By Emilie Goldfinger
These photos were not originally part of a series, but they all share qualities that I generally look for in a photograph. Light and shadow both catch my eye, particularly natural light. I like that feeling of being in the right time and place, when the light falls just so on something that could otherwise be considered pedestrian. An ordinary bench in a crappy train station or an empty intersection can be transformed by the right light, from something banal to something radiant. Wait just a moment longer and the light changes, so you really have to seize the opportunity when it arises.
